13 Years of Leadership in Digital Imaging

03/09/2009

Naugatuck Valley Radiology Associates is the proven leader in digital medical imaging. For the last 10 years NVRA has been utilizing the Picture Archive Communications System (PACS) which provides clinicians and their patients with fast and accurate image reporting.

PACS is a computer network designed for the acquisition, transmission, display, storage and retrieval of digital medical images. The system allows physicians with a high-speed Internet connection to view patient reports and images shortly after they are reviewed analyzed by the radiologists. Physicians at different locations can view images at the same time-the radiologist and referring physician can even discuss a case while looking at the exam in different locations miles apart.

The PACS allows physicians to access reports and images whenever they need them, 24 hours a day. A physician can even view an image from his or her own home. The image is available to the physician almost immediately after the patient's exam.

Some of the highlighted advantages of PACS:

  • Quicker access to reports and images than ever before.

  • Added convenience for referring physicians and patients.

  • Availability of images and reports 24 hours a day.

  • Faster and easier retrieval of images from archives

  • Long-term storage of images

NVRA is committed to continual improvement in technology and patient care services. The PACS has helped us to provide our referring physicians and their patients with quality images and fast reporting.
